But then I checked the IMDB trivia page—nope, wig was considered ghastly even when the movie was made. Director later claimed this was intentional and part of her character, which was baloney.

And my wife loves Barbara Stanwyck too. So far I don't see it. I don't find her objectionable, but not magnetic either.
