@richard_merren Generational shifts do have some meaning, but, yeah, not as much as journalists often attach to them. In the US, the so-called Greatest Generation grew up in the Depression and World War II. My generation, the younger Boomers, grew up in the 1970s and came of age in the 1980s. And like the Washington Post article says, Generation Z in the US grew up with smartphones, Instagram, SnapChat and social media DMs, which shapes their communication style.
